In 2010 when my mom visited Taiwan and in 2011 when my Mom, sister and nephew visited Taiwan I took them to Leofoo Village Theme Park for the day. The park is a pretty cool place for kids (expensive) but cool. There is a zoo (that can be viewed from a small train, lots of fun rides for adults and kids and they even have some shows.
Getting to Leofoo is easy: there are a lot of buses going there from Taipei. We usually catch the bus on Keelung Road outside Taiwan University. Once there there are a lot of rides for all types of people and all ages. The scariest (most exciting) ride is probably the screaming condor. But there are a lot of other rides to enjoy including a flying carpet, round about, a small roller-coaster and some rides that get you really wet. The video below shows some of the rides that we enjoyed while there.
We think Leofoo (六福村) is a wonderful place for families to visit when coming to Taiwan however be warned that on weekends and public holidays it can get very full with people. My sister, mom, nephew, niece and Queenie all had an awesome time there.

As you can see from the video and pictures we had an awesome time. When my family comes back we will definitely take them back there as they really enjoyed it too.
